Charities For Mother’s Day

The woman who owns the dry cleaners near my house had a gorgeous bouquet of flowers on the counter — sent to her from her daughter.

The reason was rather unique — her daughter (whose birthday it had been) was sending her mom flowers to thank her for being her mother.

Isn’t that the sweetest thing you’ve ever heard? I was nearly in tears at this soulful, unselfish act.

And speaking of mother’s, do visit Kate at Baby Lune and help her raise money for three significant women’s charities, in honor of Mothering Sunday in the U.K. and Mother’s Day here in the U.S. and Canada:

For every 1000 page views we serve up between Mothering Sunday and Mothers’ Day (57 days), I’ll donate $1.00 to the cause you choose in the poll below. Babylune usually serves up about 1000 pages a day (thanks for the idea, Hsien) and, sometimes, twice that when I run a charity campaign.
