Cheap Weight Solutions

Hand Weights

I feel like I’m always on the search for affordable, inventive weights. Here are some of my new favorite weight replacements that don’t cost a ton:

  • Tennis Cans: Fill with sand and secure with lots of duct tape for a great weight.
  • Water Containers: Leave them “as is” for a secure seal! I learned this after a slight mishap.
  • Soup Cans: Raid that pantry, and look for the Family Sized ones to work it. If you need a bit of grip on a can, wear proper lifting gloves or simply add a few strips of duct tape to keep a good grip.
  • Bags: Find another use for that ugly weekend duffle! I like to use one filled with laundry for squats, and it’s definitely an inexpensive option (and a reminder to do my laundry).

Do you have a homemade weight trick?
