Cherrybrook Kitchen’s quick and easy egg-free, milk-free, peanut-free cakes

My daughter has multiple allergies to dairy, eggs, and peanuts/nuts. Unfortunately, most baked goods are loaded with these ingredients. It’s mostly a struggle outside the home, and especially when we go to parties or gatherings where cakes, ice creams and deserts are served. I’m always looking for alternative recipes and food that I can make, or better yet buy.

So you can imagine my relief when I came across  Cherrybrook Kitchen. The company was conceived after Patsy Rosenberg of Weston, Mass. developed choccake_boxmultiple food allergies at age 31. So she started baking allergy-free treats she was famous for. Now the company sells all-natural baking mixes that are dairy-free, egg-fee, nut-free. They have yellow and chocolate cake mixes and frostings, chocolate chip and sugar cookie and brownie mixes, pancakes and muffins. And these can be either made with wheat or gluten-free.

As a chocolate lover myself, I find their chocolate cake mix is the best ever! It’s made from Dutch-processed Belgium cocoa powder and loaded with chocolate chips. My whole family loves it so much I now bake cake even when there is no special occasion. Even my adult friends devour the chocolate cakes I bring to our dinner parties.

The baking mixes are available in most Wholefoods Stores, at the Cherrybrook Kitchen website, or at Amazon.com.
