Several cities in the United States either banned or were looking to ban foie gras from restaurant menus. Chicago was one of these cities who banned the sale, distribution and consumption of foie gras.
This is a huge controversy that in some ways feels like a bit of a witch hunt. Anthony Bourdain has often lamented of this travesty and emotions have run high on both sides.
As of two weeks ago, Chicago repealed the ban voting 36-6. Chicago restaurateurs can now put foie gras back on the menu.
