Chicken Soup to Kill a Cold

Even if it didn’t work you would not care…this soup is that good. Spicy to get your sinuses cleared out and too keep the mucus thin and runny.
Sounds gross but there you go. Thin and runny is preferable to thick and can’t breathe. As an added bonus, if you are a breast feeding mom and your baby has a cold? Eat this soup and plenty of tortilla chips and salsa. It will help baby stay free of that stuffy feeling too.
It is important when you have a cold or any sort of upper respiratory infection that you stay away from dairy. It thickens the mucus.
Spicy Chicken Soup
- 1 quart organic chicken broth
- 6 chile peppers or jalapenos or mixture, chopped
- 1 teaspoon chipotle
- 10 cloves of garlic, peeled and crushed
- 2 tablespoons of ginger, peeled and chopped
- 2 onions, peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce, optional
- kosher salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Simmer for about 30 minutes, covered. Strain.Sip this broth through out the day. You can add chicken meat, noodles, and vegetables for a more substantial soup.
