Back in the year 2000 when China was bidding to hose the summer 2008 Summer Games, the Beijing Daily reported that more than 3,000 parents named their children after the phenomenal event.

Most of the children are named Aoyun, meaning Olympics (3,491 of the children to be exact). But, some are names after the “Five Friendlies”; Bei Bei, Jing Jin, Huan Huan, Ying Ying, and Ni Ni, which when put together mean “Beijing Welcomes You!”
