Laws giving rights to embryos, especially embryos created for IVF, threatens women's right to abortion. I've written two posts about how the language changes among pro-lifers when it comes to embryos used for stem-cell research and embryos used for IVF. Embryos used for stem-cell research are called "embryos," but embryos used for IVF are called "babies" or "children." I'm not sure why the language changes so dramatically when pro-lifers are talking about essentially the same thing: the creation and later destruction of human embryos. Have any insight?
