 christmas

Do you realize that it is only about 3 months until Christmas?

If you are the type of person that buys all of your gifts then you have plenty of time but if you are like me, and prefer to make many of them it is time to get started if you haven’t all ready!

There are lots of homemade things that are easy to do.

  • Foods
  • Beverage Mixes (hot chocolate mix etc.)
  • Soaps
  • Bath products
  • Handcrafts
  • Gift baskets

Begin now to look around the internet for ideas.  Don;t just check craft websites, look at the retail places the sell things you like.  Some of my favorites are:

So, consider this your Simple Home Remedy for a stress free Holiday season..Get started now!

That is our tree from last year..or, more accurately ONE of our trees from last year.  I put one up in most of the rooms…That is the main one and holds Marc’s Christmas village collection.  It is beautiful.  We generally put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving…so see, there really isn’t much time at all!

  1. I have started making crocheted shawls for the women~I have six done! but still more to go. I so hope I’ve started early enough to really enjoy the season without trying to get it all done right up to the end! (((((HUGS))))) sandi

    That is awesome Sandi…
:) Are you using one specific pattern or several?

lol. I’ve already started stockpiling for x-mas. My “gift cupboard” overflow-eth. I have most of the gifts purchased now but I’d like to put together a gift basket of homemade things for each household. The year I was pregnant I didn’t have enough money to give regular gifts so I did a gift basket of food items. I learned one important thing- test the finished product first. I gave some gingerbread cookie mixes. Not only did they need more liquid added to the recipe but they didn’t even taste that hot when they were done. I didn’t find out this info until 6 months later when I was craving cookies- talk about embarrassing. At least the truffles worked out though, couldn’t help but sample those. ^^

    That is great advice, Satsuki!

I’ve already made some things and planned our gift baskets. I always start planning in the summer. I don’t know how people can find time or afford to do these things at the last minute! I find a lot more pleasure in making gifts when I have ample time to finish them. ;-)

i’m making just simple little crochet trinkets, maybe some bath salts, lip balm and for a select few, actual crocheted scarves and hats. it all depends on time! :)
