I thought the same thing about the TRAM flap, how funny. No way, no how.

So brave. I'm so, so proud of her.

I saw this on the GMA website since I missed it. I too was shocked and amazed with her decision and interview. She came through with humor and strength sharing her decision. I think she was very smart about it. Especially given that she tested positive for the BRAC1 gene. It does seem as though she was following her instincts about the decision. I can attest to that as only a lumpectomy was recommended to me by 2 docs, I went for a mastectomy later to find it definitely was the right decision. Would have been recurrence later on. She is so very brave for speaking out about her experience at this early stage in her recovery. And I do think she will be getting some implants....as you and I can attest to ...the girl doesn't seem to have any belly fat! So I don't see a TRAM in her future. lol
I think she is giving a face and voice to young women getting bc. What an amazing woman!
