Along with the holiday season comes the joy of sharing the kitchen with your children or grandchildren making those wonderful Christmas cookies. This tradition may be more meaningful this year then in years past.

We are all watching our money while still trying to keep the spirit of Christmas alive. The recipes I found use sweeteners judiciously, cookies containing no hydrogenated fat, with all natural ingredients using as much whole-grain flour as possible.

The gift of these different cookies will be a welcome heart healthy change for your family and all of those that receive them as a gift.

I have searched for a verity of recipes to make your Christmas dinner not only different, but memorable as well. I hope you enjoy the different choices and have a heart healthy holiday. Some of the dishes can be made ahead of time, giving you more time with your family and friends. You will find helpful planners that will aid in dividing what can be made ahead and what has to be done on Christmas day. With the planner you will find it is easy to make up your shopping list and have everything you need to prepare a wonderful Christmas dinner ahead of time.
