Chronic pain may lead to smoking

Earlier, I had a post on how smokers had more back pain than non-smokers (Smokers have more back pain) and this morning, I found this article: Study Shows That Pain Causes Increased Desire To Smoke Cigarettes.

According to the article, “In a recent study published in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology, Moffitt researchers found for the first time that smokers often have greater urges to smoke and smoke more cigarettes when they experience pain.”

Interesting.
