Cleaning The Attic Is Magical

20 Years of Marriage In A Zip-lock bag?
If you are like me, most likely the only time you find yourself up in your attic is to pull down the mangled holiday lights…am I right?
And all you want to do is get out of there…ghosts and mice and such:).
But today, as I was crawling around looking for something, I noticed a manila envelope with, what looked like, my younger self’s handwriting.
Inside the envelope was this sad, smallish plastic bag…and inside: a good chunk of my married memories.
Rather than rushing back down (to the dog who was wondering how I ended up in a square hole in the ceiling) — I found myself sitting up there for almost an hour.
In that little envelope were years of memories in the form of (crusty) artifacts:
mostly ticket stubs from movies, plays, football, concerts but also, matchbooks, wine corks and labels, arcade photos, cocktail napkins…almost a whole life in a bag.
What surprised me was that as a young bride, I had the presence of mind to date and label almost every item…as if I knew that someday, I’d find myself in a freezing attic and find them.
I know all of you scrap bookers out there are cringing. Maybe I need to get a little more reverent about my memory-keeping.

You sound like me except that I have a gift bag for all my special memorabilia. And, yes, I label things. I love going through periodically and remembering all the fun we have had together. I love being married to my husband!
Hi Revka,
It’s amazing how much we’ve done and how quickly time pases.
