Clubbing As A Mating Ritual

DDClubbing usually refers to a social gathering activity [usually at night] in nightclubs, pubs, or bars.

There you go, the parameters are set.

We can now look at the possible motivations of individuals that engage in such an activity. It ought to be about music, dancing, drinking, and socialising with friends. But, of course, since the gathering is a mix of both genders, another motivation has emerged — hook-up opportunities. Let’s focus on this particular motivation.

It’s a common belief and practice in the modern dating scene, wherein both men and women actively believe that potential “mates” can be found when you’re out clubbing. Ergo, clubbing is now an unofficial mating ritual.

However, did you know that clubbing dates back to the Stone Ages?

Parallel to their Stone Age counterparts, either the male or the female will take out a frozen sea-bass and proceed to ‘club’ their chosen mate until they are unconscious. At this point, they drag their mate to a random dark place and shag the living daylights out of them.Common (Non)sense

Okay. Perhaps it’s a silly reference but what if it’s true?

Going back to the modern times, the caves are replaced with “nightclubs” and has become the primary venue to take out the “clubs” and work on “clubbing” aka “the game”, i.e. pick-up lines, opening gambits, flirting techniques. The only difference is the possibility of necrophilia has decreased [hasn't it? Sure, hope so.].

Human mating behaviour sure is quaint, huh? It, sometimes, baffles me to the point of giving up on our race. Heehee. However, I do know that it’s just one part of the whole dating scene. Good thing that people eventually do wise up.
