Coffee Can Get Me Through The Day
I remember the days of coffee. Those were the good old days. People used to ask me how I did it with 4 kids and staying home with them all day. People used to ask me how I was able to blog. Some asked me how I was able to run an online business. My answer was “coffee”. First thing I did when I woke up was brew not a cup but a pot of coffee. That’s right… it was what got me through. Man that feeling I got when my lips took that first sip. It was bliss. Usually after the second cup I wasn’t so much dealing with the taste as much as I was just keeping my energy level up.
For those coffee drinkers out there who brew a full pot each morning I can tell you it is easy to rely on, especially when you have a fast pace life and raising kids.
Crazy thing though is I have put away the coffee on a regular basis and have resorted to drinking tea. I know coffee gives you a short burst of energy but I tried the method to obtain long lasting healthy energy through fruits and vegetables and simply eating and drinking the right foods. And what’ya know, it worked. I have more energy now than I did when I relied on my morning brew.
I still drink coffee occasionally and I enjoy it so much more when that time comes to sit back, relax, and taste that nice rich gourmet coffee. I have to be more careful with the buzz factor. When I was drinking a pot of coffee daily I dealt with the coffee buzz a lot easier since I built up a tolerance to it. I never got the jitters. Since I have stopped drinking it regularly I can’t just down 2 cups in a row without feeling faint and jittery.
So are you a coffee drinker? If so are you a die hard pot of coffee every morning coffee drinker or one who drinks coffee on occasion?

Coffee…every morning…it’s one of the little things in life that I look forward to each day. I thought about giving it up at one point, but that morning cuppa makes me so happy. Don’t drink it at night, however. Instead, I’ve switched to coffee alternatives.
Up until November 26th, I was drinking 100+ ounces a day of Pepsi/Mt. Dew and quit cold turkey. I switched to coffee. No sugar/no cream. I have had zero pop since. Now I’ll have to work on the coffee addiction some other time.
This conversation makes me want a nice big cup of coffee. Mike that is a lot of soda. I know I went through a spell where I drank probably 3 20 oz. Cokes each day. It was on sale so my wife bought it and because I was home all day it was easy to chug one and then go grab another one. After 3 of those you start drinking for effect and not for taste.
I look forward to one really good cup of coffee in the morning and one very cold Diet Coke after lunch. Other than that I drink water.
I’ve tried giving up coffee before and survived but I can’t imagine finding it in me to try now. Especially with my daughter having just started school, now I’m up at 6 am and my night owl genes won’t let me go to sleep before 11 at the earliest, so I need my caffeine.
I do limit it to two cups though. I would love more since I do enjoy the taste of coffee but it makes me too jittery and queasy.
