Columnist Carol Stark Shares Her Story

I imagine some of you have wandered into Baldiness not because you’re a thirty year-old man looking for an organic hair loss treatment, (Still looking for insight into the hot peppers, by the way.) but rather because you or someone you know is undergoing chemotherapy or a similar treatment that causes baldness. Along those lines, let me share Carol Stark’s column at The Joplin Globe. Carol is an editor at the Globe, and she was diagnosed with uterine cancer in December. She is chronicling her highs and lows of her disease and treatment. This is from her March 9th column:
Just as I’ve been wondering if the chemo side effects of tiredness, nausea, stupidness and baldness were really worth it, I got some good news this week that gives me the strength to handle the next four months of my therapy.
The chemo is working. (link)
Hopefully her story and others like it can provide a bit of community and encouragement to those who need it. It wouldn’t hurt us thirty year-old bald guys to read along before hitting “Confirm” on the internet order for hair-in-a-can, either.
