One of the world’s energy companies have come up with yet another way so as to add credits to its growing renewable-energy portfolio. It is the Duke Energy Corporation and they have just added 100 new wind turbines under its wing. These units they have purchased from the well-known General Electric Company. Its president, Wouter van Kempen, has shared, “Growing our wind power portfolio underscores our commitment to reduce carbon emissions across the United States.”
According to General Electric, those wind turbine units that Duke Energy has purchased from them has the capacity to create 150 megawatts of energy. Looking at the numbers and summing all up, you would be able to realize that it is a great amount of power which could give light to quite a number of their facilities. If more companies would be doing such, we would all be looking at a far less polluted atmosphere, don’t you think?
