Concern, Compassion, Consideration

I heard the statement tonight that I often hear – “they brought their troubles on themselves.”
Now, I ask you – what the he** does this mean? So, they brought their troubles on themselves, so what? Does that make the troubles any less troubling? Does that make the troubled’s troubles unworthy of our help?
A sentence comes to mind – “What would the Master do?”
Another sentence comes to mind – “Live and Let Live.”
Yet another;
“Your job now is to be at the place where you may be of maximum helpfulness to others, so never hesitate to go anywhere if you can be helpful.”
One more;
“For the readiness to take the full consequences of our past acts, and to take responsibility for the well-being of others at the same time, is the very spirit of Step Nine.”
Growing in the image of my Creator, huh? Hmmmmmm
