Constipation – a very painful problem

The last thing someone who isn’t feeling well is a problem with bowel movement – or the lack thereof. A big part of the problem though is that many pain medications have a side effect of – you guessed it – constipation.
I’ve seen patients in the hospital with severe constipation. It’s so painful that they can’t function. And, if someone gets constipated enough, they can become impacted, a condition where the stool becomes too hard to be eliminated.
The effects of constipation can be severe. Someone who is having severe pain may end up with more pain. If you’re badly constipated, you can’t eat; if you can’t eat, you can’t get nourishment, and so on.
To learn more what you can do about preventing constipation and how to deal with it if it has become a problem, visit this page, appropriately called… Constipation.
