Continuous Birth Control Pill Poll

There’s a new poll in the sidebar: What do you think of continuous birth control pills?
Unsure what they are?
We’ll talk about them more, and I’ll tell you about my experiences with them too. To put it simply, if you’re taking continuous birth control pills, you’re skipping the placebo (inactive) pill, or you’re taking bcps designed without the inactive pills.
That means you don’t have a period. Or you have fewer periods, depending on how you take the pill.
Please give me your thoughts here or in the sidebar poll. Or both! And happy Friday to you.

It’s strange because I am usually like anything that is all natural and non-chemical, but I have been taking these for about a year and it’s great!
I for one like the security of having my period. I know a friend who missed her period due to an eating disorder & didn’t realize she was pregnant until she was 4 months along. Even though this was in high school, I still think about it.
Although I love the vibrant colors in this pill pack! Makes my Nordette’s pink & one white week pills look so boring!
Mia,
I’m the same way. I don’t like to take more drugs than I have to, but I’ve been taking cont. bcps for a few years now and it’s great for me too.
Ali,
LOL. Those are vibrant pills, aren’t they? I got it from a stock photo site. Mine aren’t so pretty either. They’re all green. The pregnancy thing is a concern when you don’t have your period, but some experts say that not taking the break pills actually helps prevent pregnancy better than the traditional method of skipping a week. I still see your point though.
Hmm, I had not heard of continuous birth control pills before.
Yeah I didn’t think that photo was a true reflection of pills.
I had never heard of them before so I am really looking forward to learning more.
Hi Shaiha,
I’ve written several posts about the topic since this one. You can find them in the “Reproductive Health” category, or just go to the Home page and scroll down.
