I love cookbooks, so my family knows that cookbooks are a safe gift for me – never met one that I did not like. I used to review cookbooks, but haven’t picked up anything new for quite some time. If you have a cookbook lover on your holiday gift list and you are looking for some last minutes inspiration, take a look at a few of the books I’ve listed below.
First, because I’m a new fan of Post Punk Kitchen…….
by Isa Chandra Moskowitz
Isa says…”Over a hundred and fifty truly inspired, decadent, creative recipes all without the help of any store bought meat analogs. Maybe it’s a little conceited to call my own recipes truly inspired but really. They are.”
I’m going to have to pick up a copy of this one – I see it on everybody’s must read list.
How It All Vegan: Irresistible Recipes For An Animal-Free Diet
by Sarah Kramer and Tanya Barnard
This classic book is great for long-time Vegan and beginner alike. Lots of real everyday meal ideas.
“Central American food, with its mixture of native, Spanish and Afro-Caribbean influences, offers a very homely style of cooking with lots of easy-to-prepare dishes based on fresh wholesome ingredients. Even if you do not opt for chili-flavored porridge for breakfast, you will certainly want to experiment and incorporate some new and flavorful recipes into your repertoire of animal-free dishes. And heres over a 100 to get you started: Soups, Appetizers, Main Courses, Accompaniments, Snacks, Finger-Food, Rice, Salads, Salsas and Sauces, Breads, Desserts, Baking and Drinks!”
Food with a Latin flare is my personal favorite. In fact, my daughter and I had cheese and pepper tamales from the Farmer’s Market for breakfast this morning. Yum.
