Couture for Cancer

Couture for Cancer
Last month I was notified of a new company, Couture for Cancer. I was getting ready to head out of town for a few days, but I said I’d take a look when I returned.* What is Couture for Cancer? In their own words:

Couture for Cancer, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that donates custom made non-surgical hair replacement systems completely free of charge, to any person suffering hair loss due to cancer and chemotherapy treatments. Our mission is to assist cancer patients during this difficult time in their life by boosting their self-confidence and personal outlook after the devastating loss of their hair.

Couture was founded by Mario Mazza, a third generation hair stylist from New Jersery who own an upscale salon in Jupiter, Florida. At some point Mazza began to offer free services to anyone who had lost their hair as a result of cancer treatments. Couture for Cancer is the natural extension of that generosity.

At the Couture for Cancer website you can find out all about the organization, including how to request a hair replacement system. You can even buy a PINK flat iron, which will support the organization. It’s a bit pricey to my eye, but then again what to I know about flat irons. It might be a bargain at twice the price. This one not only supports a charitable cause, but it’s PINK! That’s gotta be worth something to some of you ladies out there.

*And then May happened, which for a variety of reasons became so busy it has feel the need to spill over into June. June, being a jealous type, has responded with busyness of her own, and all this is to say, “Aja, I’m sorry it’s taken me to long to have a look.”

(And this is supposed to be a fairly slow time at the day job. Someone forgot to pass out the memo… again.)
