If you’re from the Eastern Shore or are currently living anywhere near the Shore, you are probably pretty familiar with the Maryland Blue Crab. This little creature makes an appearance on quite a few picnic tables over the Memorial Day weekend.

In my family, my Grandma’s crab casserole is a big favorite. It is kind of a crab cake for everyone:

Ingredients

Small green pepper

Celery (Cut it up into pretty small bits, not those big chunks we usually do for salads.)

Tablespoon of fresh parsley

Teaspoon mustard

1 egg

1-2 tablespoons of mayo

Dash of Worcestershire sauce

Dash of salt and pepper

Pound of crab

Directions

Saute pepper and celery in a tablespoon of butter. Mix the sauted food and all the other ingredients into a casserole dish and bake the casserole for 15 minutes at 375 degrees.

I use a little more mayo, but this is a typical crab dip recipe. I have lived in Baltimore most of my life and there is nothing better than crab dip, except steamed crabs with old bay seasoning. Hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday.
