Creating Attractive Quilt Displays

The array of quilts in the living room caught my attention when I visited my cousin’s home for the first time. She’s a third cousin I discovered while doing genealogical research and finally had an opportunity to meet in person.
As I viewed her quilts, I knew the family heritage of quilting was in her genes, too. On the far side of the living room, arranged on shelves, was a multitude of folded quilts. The bright colors drew me to them, and before the afternoon was over, we’d taken the quilts off the shelves and looked at the designs, colors, and handiwork.

She even insisted that I choose one for myself.
In her sewing room, where we spread out genealogical information and photos, were shelves of her fabrics. A typical quilter’s stash! I also saw more quilts on a rack designed for this display purpose.
Do your quilts capture the attention and imagination of those who enter your home and studio? Do they know you’re a quilter?
Quilts, attractively displayed, add cheer, color and creativity to a home.
