Crockpot Cooking – Great for the Summer

I love using my crockpot during the summer. I use it during the winter months too, but to cut down on oven use and heating up the whole house, I use it quite a bit May through September.
Using the crockpot is a great way to help you organize your meals and meal planning. Cooking this way makes preparation and clean up a breeze. It also totally eliminates the 5 o’clock “what in the world am I going to cook tonight” nightmare.
One problem I have run into though are good recipes. I have made a few things in my crockpot that looked less appetizing than canned dog food. Okay, maybe it’s my cooking, I don’t know. My family and I seem to think I cook pretty well.
I am always on the look out for more crockpot recipes. I found a very yummy sounding one that I think I will try for a July 4th meal.
It’s called Red, White and Blue Cobbler and I found it over at Baking Delights. The recipe seems super easy and I am a huge cobbler fan! Just reading the recipe made my tummy growl.
This is just one of the many good recipes they have. If you are hurting for some new recipes, you will find plenty of great ideas. Why am I suddenly extremely hungry?!?

Great idea, it gets so darn HOT out here in Vegas, I am always looking for ways to keep my house cooler! I, personally, have not gotten into crockpot cooking just yet but, I do know that velveeta cheese with jim dean sausage bits cooks perfectly in a crockpot (Queso Dip made easy and it tastes delicious, too). Add some fresh jalapenos and tomato slices prior to eating and hhmmm, mmmm, good!
Scott – Vegas in the summer….OUCH! And I love that Queso dip. You’re making me hungry! I eat mine with tortilla chips. Yum yum…
