Cross Country Meetings

themeday.gifTheme Day for the Science and Health Channel at b5 brings back a memory or two, good memories…

Meetings in Detroit Lakes, Minn.

Meetings in Pensacola, Fla., and Phoenix, Ariz.

Before you begin your trip, may I strongly suggest a visit to this web site – AA Intergroup and Central Office Phone Numbers.

That’s where you can find meeting lists for places like Phoenix’s Area Three, or the greater Phoenix, Maricopa County area, or Pensacola, Fla., or Detroit Lakes, Minn.

Before you begin your trip you might consider seriously bringing along your pocket version of the Big Book and a few other pieces of literature like the Daily Reflections. (They really only take up as much space as a bottle)

And, before you start traveling, remember that “wherever I go, I find me there.” Which really means that when I change locations I haven’t changed my way of thinking and inevitably I’m going to drink again, without help. Left to my own devices, etc.

These three towns I’ve mentioned are places where my friends and I either drove through and made meetings, or stayed a while and got to know some of the good AA folks. Hey All! Thank you for your help and friendship!

I’m about to go on another trip up north to Canada to visit the in-laws. It took a little while, but I found some really great meetings up there that I really like.

The intergroup list idea is really great! I use that a lot. (BTW) there is going to be an intergroup “annual conference” of sorts in Oklahoma City before long and I’m looking forward to helping out there. But before I go anywhere, the first thing I do is to make some phone calls and try to find out where some really good three-legacied homegroups are.

    Thanks Mark!
