Cross stitch finish! ah, Coffee…

This piece has been a comedy of errors. All blame is mine, as I appear to suffer from an inability to count properly when tired. The hat is slightly off, a few stitches are done in the wrong colors, and when it came time to backstitch the coffee cup, I did it in dark blue instead of dark brown because I was too lazy to go find the brown. I did purposefully stitch the dashed line in gold braid because I thought it would be prettier than if done in brown floss. The border? The border is not part of the pattern. You’ll note the bottom edge– I mis-counted where I needed to start the piece, and the whole thing is a few squares too far south on the cloth. The border is to ensure the fabric doesn’t unravel before I figure out how I’m going to finish this. My husband commented that I really have a hard time letting go of a piece, and that is largely true. I was thinking this might need more sparkle, or perhaps some beads. I’m so irritated with all the minor mistakes however, that I find I’m able to let it go quite easily. And without further ado:

    It looks great. :)

Random bystander wouldn’t notice anything odd or wrong, and neither do I.

Hi! thanks for the nice comment :) I am probably my own worst critic…

    *g*

Yep. You see, if one does not know the chart, they won’t notice errors, unless they’re very very major. And I don’t notice anything wrong. And I don’t know the chart. All set :)

    Congrats for your finish! :)

Thanks :) Now to get back to the needlecase, and Egyptian Sampler. I’ve been avoiding those due to the ‘counting problem’ I’ve been having. heh

I also have counting problem. I use color pencils to mark the charts with, helps quite a lot.

    nice work!
Coffee is magic is in my “works to be done” list… where there are almost all Dragon Dreams patterns LOL
I was thinking about stitching it for a charity project I am running with some friends.

    I like a lot your blog :)

Thankyou for the lovely comment, Meg. :)

I have the Christmyth series on my “list” of projects I want to stitch. There are a couple of her larger projects that I want to buy some day, but I should stitch all the big ones I already have first. LOL!

I am stitching Moonlight Guardian, one of DD larger’s patterns. It is fantastic, but it needs so much time and I have so few…

I don’t like too much the look of the page and I am working on it, but the photos are them ;)

    bye

I really like the sparkle on the dragon. Sparkle and shiny is good :)

This kitty on the clothesline made me laugh:

yes the kitty is very funny! but full of half stitches so it was quite busy to be stitched…

the sparkle of Moonlight Dragon is a fantastic Kreinik thread. I am fond with that color!!!

    :)
    bye
