Daddies and daughters

Dads, I have news for you:  If you want to raise a girl with a healthy self-esteem and body image, you have to stop treating women badly.

“But wait,” you say.  “I treat my daughter and wife like royalty!”

I hear you.  And I believe you.

Yet I also know that you might be the same guy who makes fun of women on TV for being “fat” or “ugly”.

You might be the kind of dude who calls chicks chubby and snickers at cellulite.

You might even be the type of daddy who keeps pics of stick-thin girls with big ol’ boobies on the wall of his garage hang-out or den.

Ahem.

I hate to tell you, but those seemingly innocuous actions could lead your little princess to stop eating or ram her petite fingers down her throat.

She won’t know that she’s doing it to please you… at least not at first.  But if she survives her eating disorder, she may just come to the conclusion that father didn’t know best.

I’m just saying.
