Dating Advice From the Comments

I’ve been reading the comments readers have been leaving on the giveaway thread and I thought I’d share some with you.

*Many people advise to meet in a coffee shop and I agree with that all the way.  Meeting for coffee means you are out in a public place (for safety), you have a cup, so you’ve got something warm and soothing to hold onto (I’m serious – dating is stressful), and the cup helps to keep you from fidgeting.  A cup of coffee only lasts so long, so there’s an obvious end-point, unless things are going well and you decide to go for seconds.

*Have fun and keep your expectations in check.  Internet dating is a tool, just another way to meet people. It’s only “disastrous” if you believe it’s the answer to your prayers. It’s not, but it could be where you meet someone special. Or not.  See, keep your mind and eyes open.

*Be honest. If you aren’t for someone, better to figure it out in the beginning. Be yourself.

  1. Yes, coffee dates are good first time meeting places. It can either end there, or can be the starting place if things go well.

  3. Plus you get a midday energy boost from the coffee…… and sometimes there’s yummy brownies. ;D

  4. Christine, I thought so, too. Thanks for commenting.
