Dating and Gift Buying at Christmas

When it comes to dating and gift buying, many seem to find themselves in a real sticky situation during the holidays.

You’ve been dating a person for a while and care about them a great deal. While nothing has been verbalized between the two of you, you still feel something special brewing.

What are some of the rules you might use to keep from finding yourself in an embarrassing situation of over spending or under spending on your gift?

You don’t want to get your love interest an expensive watch that’s engraved, only to open your gift to find a funny to-shirt and a card. That has the potential to create a very uncomfortable situation, don’t you think?

What do you do?

  1. Lin says:

    1. Absolutely nothing with sexual overtones such as lingerie.

    2. Less is more. What you know of this persons personality, likes and dislikes, what they’re into as far as hobbies should provide some direction.

Guys buying for a new lady might consider a plush stuffed animal with a small locket attached that she can choose a picture to insert.

Ladies buying for a new fella might consider an elegant pen set, bobble-head of his favorite sports figure or perhaps an elegantly framed picture of yourself (not posed seductively).

  2. Just get something inspired for everyone special to you, whether they are of dating interest or not.
