I think every time we hear of a beloved movie star’s death it is shocking, but that’s especially true when someone takes their own life. David Carradine has been found dead in his hotel room in Bangkok. He was shooting a new film and was “found by crew members after failing to turn up for a dinner.” Several sources have said he was “found hanged in his luxury room and is believed to have committed suicide.”

Many fans know Carradine from his 1970s series Kung Fu and movie Kill Bill. Our sympathies go out to his family.

This is so bizarre to read.
I was on Kauai a week or so ago, and the production crew was looking for extras for a movie. Although I was leaving before filming was to take place, I asked what the movie was about and who it starred. The answer? David Carradine.
So some of the shots for this movie were to be filmed on the Garden Isle.
How strange and creepy now to read about his death.
Here’s an update on the story: http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/06/05/carradine.death/index.html
My son and I were just watching the Kill Bill series and I had mentioned how Perfect that roll was for him. I just couldn’t imagine anyone else in that part. I’m sure Quentin Tarrentino had him in mind when he wrote it.
Still, this whole thing just doesn’t add up to me. I wonder if we’ll ever know what happened.

so many Kung Fu fans (such as myself) wanted to grow up to be like David Carradine
