Daylighters work second job during the first
We’ve all heard of people “moonlighting” at a second job, but the term “daylighting” was new to me.
Apparently, there’s a whole group of people who work their second jobs while at their first ones:
Many Americans are squeezing two jobs into one shift — moonlighting by day, as it were — as a hedge against a sagging economy or to maintain their style of living.
Some people are doing it with the permission of the first company, but I suspect that many people who work a second job on company time are doing it undetected. A work-work balance if you will.
I’m not sure I’d be giving either job my best effort and that would be an ethical gray area for me. Apparently, it’s more common that I realized.
Have you heard of “daylighting”? Do you have any experience with it?

I’m wondering if a lot of bloggers don’t blog on company time. I don’t, but it wouldn’t qualify anyway, since I don’t make a penny at blogging.
I agree that blogging during one’s full time work would be unethical. I do know several bloggers who blog during breaks etc. However, I use Blogger and love the fact that I can write and schedule my posts.
I have to read more about “day lighters”, but you are right, there are many many couples who are juggling multiple careers.
