Dealing with Alzheimer’s Patients Requires Thinking Outside the Box.

April 3, 2008 by Liz Lewis

Not every problem has to be difficult to solve.

For example, a Danish Rest Home for Alzheimer’s Patients had a problem with their patients wandering out to the bus stop and sitting on the bench. Some just sat and waited. Others boarded the bus.

The solution: A virtual bus stop – complete with bench, clock, and timetable – set up inside the rest home. The residents are happy and the staff no longer have to keep an eye on departing buses.

Brilliant.
