As soon as my phone got dropped in water, I took it apart as much as I could and put it in our bathroom in front of the heater. It dried it out and worked for a bit. My brother warned me that typically it will work for a few months and then suddenly quit working. He was right.

Within the last 2 years, I've had 2 phones lock up on me for no reason. I'm back to using "old faithful". It's an old Nokia that I've had for several years.

All you have to do is take ur cell phone apart and put it in a bag of macaroni or rice and leave it in there for 3 or 4 days and it will completely dry it out. I swair this works...do a google search and it will tell you all about it..i have done this myself and it works.

I'm not one for blaming myself when my kids touch things they know they shouldn't touch. You can't put everything out of their reach. Pretty soon the kitchen counters begin to overflow and they can touch it anyway.

A few months ago, my son took a key off of my husband's computer. He knows he's not supposed to touch it. He's been told since he was old enough to crawl. He had done pretty well until one day temptation got the better of him. He felt so guilty that he hid the key under the bed and then told us about it later. Then a few days later, he took the knob off of the living room floor lamp and hid it in the sofa. He confessed to that one too, but we've yet to find the knob. I guess we can find another one at Home Depot or somewhere.

Delicate cell phones get on my nerves too. It seems evident that they want us to buy one every year.

I have yet to find the place that is out of Zack's reach. He climbs everything. He can get anywhere. He moves chairs. Yesterday I actually saw him scale a wall. He dumps my purse out and it's on a high hanger by the door.

Sometimes I find him in places and I have to sit and think about how exactly he could get there for about 15 minutes. He just sits there with his big old grin - very proud of himself.

My house would have to have one really, really high shelf about 10 feet up and no ladder. Then how would I get to my phone to, you know, use it?

I don't know any 'good' solution to the phone thing - I think this "keep it out of reach" crap is crap. Your cell phone has to be carted around from place to place along w/ your kids - and most kids find ways to get to countertops, into purses and even to the top shelf sometimes. My two year old is obcessed w/ the toilet - he puts everything he can in there..I've had to become extremely anal (lol) about disinfecting the toilet regularly.

I'm really sorry about your phone Tracee. That Sucks!
