Declutter with the Osbournes

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne (well, Sharon anyway, lol!) are setting a good example for all of those people whose lives are being taken over by stuff. That’s right, they are decluttering their home!
The 58-year-old rocker and his wife are selling art, furniture and collectibles from their homes in Malibu, Beverly Hills and England.
The Nov. 30 auction will also feature items from their MTV reality show, The Osbournes, including son Jack Osbourne’s black leather bedroom furniture and a cast-iron crucifix that adorned Ozzy’s den in various episodes.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Foundation.
“It’s time to unload,” said Sharon Osbourne, 55. “We just have an overabundance of possessions that we do not need.”
With their three children now out of the house, the couple have changed their style and moved to a new home, she said, adding that parting with hundreds of items has been “one of the most refreshing things I’ve done.”
Ozzy, however, doesn’t share his wife’s enthusiasm.
“I don’t know why we are selling everything as I want it all,” Osbourne said in a statement.
Well, maybe your stuff isn’t worthy of an auction, but you sure could donate it to a local charity.
Take a look around your home and see if there’s anything you just aren’t using that someone else could benefit from. Maybe your closet is full of clothes you haven’t worn in years. Donate it and allow a woman or man who is in desparate need of clothes put them to good use.
Are your kids’ toys taking over your home or ending up in the attic? Again, donate them so a child who has no toys or very little can get some enjoyment out of them.
There is so much we can do with the stuff that clutters up our home.

Ok, Ozzy is just weird. He wants to keep hundreds of useless items. That family is odd. But love that they’re downsizing their stuff overall!
I would LOVE to go to that auction and see what kinds of things they are getting rid of. I couldn’t buy any of it, but it would be fun anyway.
Sharon will have to drag Ozzy kicking and screaming, but I’m glad she’s doing this.
We had a garage sale today and it was fun. My 11-year-old son made a big sign on the end of a broom and stood on the corner, waving the sign and directing people to the sale. It was a big help!
Kathy:That’s funny. I’m sure you’re right.
Glad your garage sale went well. I haven’t been garage sale shopping in forever. I miss it!
