Deep Thoughts

superhero.jpgIt’s been over a year since my mother died.

I’m doing well, but, still fighting the urge to swoop in and advise other people with ill, and, dying parents.

People were so kind, and, there for me, and, I want others to know that everything will be OK.

However, I must get rid of the urge to be “Bereavement Girl”, and, rein it in a bit before I turn into one of those people like the ones you encounter when you’re pregnant who know “everything” about having kids.

Its ok. Sometimes I just dont know what to do next and I’m wishing someone would tell me.

  2. I think that sometimes it just comes down to whether a person is ready for advice or someone to lean on. Trust your instincts—if you think someone really needs you, he/she will usually have something that they say or do that lets you know. I think a lot of help/advice comes down to being present for the person. Sometimes doing something small for a person like an errand can alleviate some everyday pressure and can be the helping hand that they are willing to take.

I, for one, am glad that you are here and you can swoop in anytime and help me out.

Even though I have already been through this once with my MIL it is so different with my own Mother and I so appreciate your thoughts and wisdom.
