Delicious Dinner for 1 in 10 Minutes or Less: Bagel Tuna Melt

My husband has been working weird hours lately, so I’ve been eating alone a couple of nights a week. Over the next few posts, I’m going to share some of my favorite quick and easy “recipes”!

Bagel Tuna Melt

  • 1 bagel (preferably everything or onion)
  • 1 can of your favorite tuna (in water, not oil)
  • Chopped onion
  • Chopped celery
  • 2 tbsp mayonaise or Miracle Whip
  • 1/2 c shredded cheddar

Slice bagel in half and put in the toaster oven or broiler to warm. Drain tuna and combine in a bowl with mayo, onion, and celery. Add salt, pepper, oregano, and any other seasonings you like. Mix well. Put half of the tuna on each half of the bagel, spreading it evenly with a fork. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top, covering completely. Return to the toaster oven or broiler for 2-3 minutes or until totally melted and browning.

Eat while still nice and warm, and be sure to use your hands because it’s more fun that way. Enjoy a beer or a glass of white wine, savoring your amazing domesticity.
