Depressive?

Without overlooking the fact that alcohol is a depressant and we pour enormous amounts of it into us so why we become depressed really isn’t rocket science now is it
let’s consider that many of “us” live with depression in quite a few forms and at different levels.
Referring to pg. 45 in the 12 and 12;
“If temperamentally we are on the depressive side, we are apt to be swamped with guilt and self-loathing. We wallow in this messy bog, often getting a misshapen and painful pleasure out of it. As we morbidly pursue this melancholy activity, we may sink to such a point of despair that nothing but oblivion looks possible as a solution. Here, of course, we have lost all perspective, and therefore all genuine humility. For this is pride in reverse. This is not a moral inventory at all; it is the very process by which the depressive has so often been led to the bottle and extinction.”
apt – Inclined; disposed customarily
wallow – To roll one’s self about
misshapen – Having a bad or ugly form.
morbid – sick, twisted, unhealthy
melancholy – Affected with great sadness
So, therefore, I have come to believe that depression is not an excuse to drink, rather, it is another in the endless list of excuses my disease will offer me to speed up my death.
A Sober, Clean Day To All,
Mark
