Designer babies are becoming a reality

Love red hair but want the softer look on your baby? Hate dealing with curls and want your little one to have soft waves instead? Love the brown eyes instead of blue? Well, time has come that you may be able to pick and choose what features your babies will have – provided you’re willing to pay for it.

According to an article on ABC News, with up to 80% accuracy, a fertility doctor with clinics in Manhattan and Los Angeles says you can do this.

So, let’s see. If you have an 80% chance of success and you have your heart set on a blond, slim, blue-eyed girl but you get a short, plump, curly red-head, do you send her back? What if she finds out later in life that she was a defective order? How do you explain that?

Should this even be allowed? What do you think?

This is sickening to me. Why can’t we be happy with what we are given naturally. It’s not supposed to be about the parents, but about the child. And having a child is not giving an order at Burger King. You can’t always ‘have it your way!’
