As some of you know, I write A Hearty Life as well as Diabetes Notes. Being a cardiac nurse, I have a strong passion for the topic. Now, we all know that diabetes and heart disease goes hand in hand. So does exercise, eating healthy and prevention of disease. But how many of use what we know on a consistent basis?

marksdailyapple.jpgDo you hit the gym a couple times a week? Do you make sure to practice heart health? Do you care? Well, Mark Sisson from Mark’s Daily Apple has done another guest post for me over at A Hearty Life. He is a health junkie and self professed exercise freak!

He has great tips for everyday life and unconventional ways to incorporate exercise into your life. Here is a tidbit on what he has to say this week. If you find it helpful, make sure you check it out...

If you’re recovering from a run-of-the-mill illness, like a cold or the flu, you’ve gotta hop right back on the horse (er, make that bike). Ironically, though colds and the flu are some of the more mild bodily injuries we can sustain – in that they’re so temporary – these are the health issues that derail exercise plans the most. Especially if you’re just getting into exercise or are trying to build a workout habit that was never there, a fever or a few days of aches and pains can send you right back to your old, unhealthy patterns.
