We all know that the things a woman eats and drinks while pregnant can affect her baby, but new research says that a woman’s diet can affect her baby even before she gets pregnant. The findings come from an animal study that have suggested the time before conception is just as important as the pregnancy term.

One example:
“a long-term high fat diet in female macaque monkeys can lead to liver disease, diabetes and thyroid trouble in their offspring. Changing the diet reversed the risk.”
Doctors point out that nearly half of all pregnancies are not planned. If this research is to be believed, they recommend that any woman, whether currently trying to pregnant or not, eat healthy and take a multivitamin.
