Diet Coke Plus – Review

My fiance was sweet enough to pick up a 12-pack of the new Diet Coke Plus (Diet Coke formulated with vitamins) for me at a local gas station here in Knoxville. Now, I’m a huge fan of the original Diet Coke, and I’m a big diet soda drinker, so I wanted to give this a try.
The Taste
Diet Coke Plus is definitely sweeter than Diet Coke. It reminds me a little of Diet Pepsi – of course with the classic Coke taste. The reason for this is that it’s made with acesulfame potassium (Ace-K), a zero-calorie sweetener, along with aspartame.
There’s no nasty bitter taste, as you might expect from the vitamins. They managed to mask it pretty well. Overall, I enjoyed the taste of it, but prefer my original Diet Coke (and for other fans out there, don’t worry, they’re not changing the formula).
The Nutrition
As with other diet drinks, Diet Coke has zero calories, as well as vitamins like B3, B6 and B12, as well as magnesium and zinc. It provides about 25 percent of your RDA for each, so it’s not the equivalent of taking a multivitamin, but hey – every bit helps!
Let me know if you’ve tried this and what you thought.
