Discovering changing needs of aging parents during the holidays

retirement.gifHolidays can often be the time when adult children find that their aging parents may not be doing as well on their own as they once did.

Coming home for the holidays, adult children see first hand how mom or dad may not get around as well as they did last year, or, that their once pristine house is showing some signs of neglect.

ElderCarelink.com has a Checklist for Adult Children and their Aging Parents that describes changes that children should watch for in their aging parents.

  1. This is a good reminder for children of aging parents. I’m going to refer my Alzheimer’s Notes readers to this post. The “children” may not be full fledged caregivers of parents with Alzheimer’s yet. However, this may alert them to some signs to look for.
