Airs Friday, June 13 at 8 PM ET/PT
Every year, millions of Americans fall prey to ailments that go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. Medical professionals struggle to understand their baffling conditions.
Story 1: It’s a parent’s worst nightmare. From the time Michael and Evan Bowen were babies, Shelley and Michael Sr. knew that something was not quite right with their sons. The brothers suffer from unexplained fevers, terrible diarrhea and mysterious rashes. They are also not developing properly and have trouble reaching their milestones such as rolling over on time or walking like normal toddlers.. Some mysterious disease was affecting both of their sons’ hearts. Was it contagious? Was it viral or bacterial? Or could it be genetic? Will the doctors find a definitive diagnose for the boys’ mysterious conditions?
Story 2: Little Samantha Edgar was born with a rare disorder that no one could understand. Every few months, Sam would gain more than 10 pounds in a few days and experience excessive hair growth, acne break outs and severe pain throughout her body. A few weeks later she would be completely back to normal. Her mother Jackie knew something was wrong, but the experts thought she was the one who was sick.
