Diving board accidents still happening with kids

Children aged 10 to 14 are at most risk of hitting their head on a diving board, according to the article, Hitting head on diving board a common injury for kids. The risk is highest in backyard swimming pools.

According to the article, "High diving platforms may seem to be the riskiest, but that’s not where most accidents happen. More than 80 per cent of diving injuries occurred from a height of less than, or equal to, one metre."

The article provides you with injury prevention tips. It’s worth looking at, especially if you have a backyard pool or your kids frequent one at a friend’s house.

    when i was in high school, 1 of my classmates broke her neck diving into a back yard pool. We were jumping off the roof of the shed right next to it. I’ll never forget that.
