Do Women Talk More Than Men?

Over the years, many have cited an old statistic that apparently has no actual study or basis for the figure. The articles have asserted that women use an average of 20,000 words per day compared with 7,000 for men.

That belief has been totally debunked!

In a real and recent study, it’s been found that men actually do talk as much as women.

In fact the score was terribly close with Women, 16,215. Men, 15,669.

I’d love to be a part of a similar study, my husband claims I am the talker while the kids and I claim he could talk circles around me. In fact, there are many times when we’re waiting in the car for him to finish his conversations so we can get going.

I’ve actually waited up to an hour for him to shut the heck up and get moving. Thank goodness I had a good book on hand.

So what do you think? Who talks more – men or women?

  1. Dave Herbert says:

Its all dependent about the person who talks the most & their history, did they grow up in a big family, a town, or a big city? If so, they will probably talk about more situations because they’ve been involved in them. Its impossible to say who speaks more over whom when you have a continuing infinite numbers of infinite situations & people. So its always easier to assume that the other sex has more mumbo jumbo to talk about, but then again don’t we all…
