Do You Celebrate Daniel Boone Day?

I learned from Sandy Mitchell, at All Holiday Cafe, that today, June 7, is Daniel Boone Day.
What do you know about this American pioneer who blazed a trail across the wilderness and became a well-known name in our country’s history? Have you passed this lore along to your children?
What books might there be for youngsters about him? There also have been movies and television shows. Often in school, as youngsters learn about him and other pioneers, they become fascinated by the dress of earlier days and wear costumes that recreate that era.
