I just want to ask this question and find out what you guys think about this issue.
Do you fight each other’s battles?
There are and will be instances wherein you find yourself faced with your partner’s foe. It doesn’t really matter (or does it?) who’s in the wrong, all that matters to you is protecting your partner. Or am I being presumptuous?
I believe that, of course, your partner should know how to stand on his or her own feet and defend himself or herself, however, there’s that strong urge to step in and tell the other person off. One reason, apart from the urge to defend your partner, might be your utter loyalty to him or her.
Now comes a question that will make the first question more interesting, “Should you fight their battles?”
I’m quite sure that there will be a mixture of thoughts and emotions on this matter. Some, upon reading the post, may act so righteously and say “You shouldn’t!” or “It’s only right to defend my partner!” But I’d like to give you guys room to ponder on it. Think about your answer then let me know. I’m looking forward to it. 
This is one of the “cornerstone” issues surrounding the demise of my current relationship. Her ego is so far off the chart that any attempt, even the appearance of a desire to, winds up in a confrontation that I decided long ago just wasn’t worth the effort. I have been readying plans to extract myself from this situation for a short while. Hopefully they’ll come to fruition in a month or two…
