Do You Have a Fantasy Appliance?

There’s this sleek, powerful top of the line mixer. I look at it in the store and immediately start dreaming about the things I’d make with it. I mean, with a $499 retail value, it has to create fabulous food, right? I picture the most incredibly perfect meringues and cakes that are so moist and delicious that they develop a cult following. Then, I realize that I have a perfectly serviceable mixer at home that doesn’t cost me a cent. And, honestly, is a mixer really going to have that effect on my desserts?

If I ever see the KitchenAid deluxe mixer on sale and don’t have anything I need more, like a new dryer, I think I might still buy one, though. My sister recently was able to realize her dream and buy the pink model she’s been drooling over for awhile when Kohl’s had an amazing sale, but I won’t buy my sleek chrome dream mixer unless it goes under $100.
