Do you share a hobby with your spouse?

I was actually thinking about this post, and then saw Heather’s comment on Bald Man’s post. So, I know at least for one of you, the answer is yes!
Some of our friends have a day to themselves tomorrow. They’re both off for Veteran’s Day, but their kids still have school. I’m so excited for them! A whole day for a date.
I was trying to think of what Bald Man and I would do with a whole day together. We don’t share a ton of hobbies, and the arrival of the kids really cut down on the time we could share in a common activity. We used to play indoor soccer together, take walks, hit an occasional movie. Even the boardgames have gone down a ton because everything that we used to be able to accomplish around the house after work now has to wait until the kids are all in bed. That cut out a ton of our recreation time!

So, I’m not sure what we’d do with a whole day to ourselves. Neither of us is all that decisive and I think we’d probably go the way of the vultures in Disney’s the Jungle Book and sit around volleying the lines, “What we gonna do?”—–”I dunno. What you wanna do?”—”I dunno. What we gonna do?”
We need to come up with a few activities to share together, and make the time to do it! We’ve talked about bowling, especially now that there’s the smoking ban. It would be bearable for the kids to come. We both enjoy reading, but that doesn’t translate well to a joint activity for us. Maybe a pottery class or something like that would be fun. No matter what, I think it’s important that we remember that we actually do enjoy activities together, and I think it’s important to model to our kids that time for Mommy and Daddy to share time and activities together is important and a priority.
How about you? Do you have hobbies or activities that you share together?

Kerri, your blogs are lovely.
Last Thursday was a public holiday in my country, my hubby and I chose to cook together. We have great fun and great lunch!
We play video games and do puzzles together.
Catherine: Thanks for your kind comment! A cooking day together…sounds like a fun time.
Holly: I so wish I enjoyed puzzles! I’ve wished that since I was little, I just get too frustrated with them. But video games are fun to play together. A little Guitar Hero always makes for a fun evening. Thanks so much for sharing your comment!
