Do you use a magical product?

Recently, I have come to realize that I use a non medicinal product (almost every day) that allows me to leave my house, greet the world, and take on the challenges of life. It was a surprise, when I discovered that this item is not a vitamin, or a tonic, or even soup.
**Warning – Product endorsement coming**
The product I am talking about is a shampoo and its accompanying conditioner. Let me explain myself, before I introduce what I use. When you suffer from insomnia, the headaches that you experience are really severe. Dare I say unrivaled…because I have not experienced pain on this level in a very long time. Not only is the pain unbearable, but there is a literal fog that tags along with it. I like to call it the screen of haziness. It goes without saying that exhaustion is a way of life….very similar to the CFS exhaustion.
When I use this shampoo, not only does it wake me up (ie gives me energy), but it actually lifts the headaches away. I am guessing that this is the aromatherapy part of the product. I have not found anything else that comes close to what this product line does for me.
OK - I suspect that at this point, you are going crazy with anticipation. In your head you are screaming, “Laura, get on with it already – tell us what it is that you use!!!”
I hear you. I use the Aveda Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Conditioner.

The peppermint helps awaken your senses , and the rosemary helps protect from environmental damage (taken from the Aveda website). While I suppose you can argue that spending $20+ on a 1L bottle of shampoo is ridiculous. Let me add this thought, $20 -25 is economical when comparing it to having a life that isn’t productive or fun. For me, this works.
What works for you?

Oooh that sounds awesome! Where do you get Aveda products? (Drawing a foggy blank)
I have my arsenal of peppermint shower products for headaches–Bath & Body works peppermint shower gel, and Kiss My Face Mint & Tea Tree shampoo & conditioner (the TT is a bit too strong though). Then I have my Origins peppermint lotion and Arbonne’s Pampermint foot scrub/foot lotion. Add a little Head On and I’m minty fresh LOL
Angel,
I think (not 100% sure) that you can order products on the aveda link that I gave. I purchase it at either my hair salon, or day spa (both are aveda outlets). Tea tree is a little strong for me too, and so other than my spa trip everymonth- I don’t use it very often.
Looks like you are really well stocked on the mint stuff. I have Canada kicks ass mint lip balm that is fabulous, unfortunately I can no longer find anyone who sells it. It used to make your lips all tingly.
Okay, here’s my product endorsement.
When the aches and pains get to the point I can’t keep still and certainly can’t sleep, the one muscle cream I’ve found that works is an Australian one.
It’s from Dynamo House and it’s called Eucalyptus Body Rub. I usually buy a couple of pots at a time and use them as required (although when looking this up for you I see that the price has gone up).

Ooooh Kerry,
that stuff looks good. at least the packaging looks pretty.
Will have to save me up some $$$ to order it.
Thanks for the tip!
Peppermint is one of the best things for getting rid of headaches, so the fact that you are putting it on your head and massaging it in is bound to be good! I’m glad you stumbled on such a wonderful thing!
Ellie, funny isn`t it….I have been taking in all the stuff you say about aromatherapy. But didn`t even realize that I use aromatherapy products, they just don`t come in the form of oil housed in little bottles.
I was such a resistor….thinking that it could only be one thing. Glad to know that my brain finally opened up, and starting recognizing other options.
